Janessa Johnsrude (co-creator/performer)

Janessa is an artist and educator from the Canadian Prairies with a penchant for mask work, eccentric character, vaudeville, cabaret, physical comedy and storytelling. She is an MFA graduate of Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, and has studied acting at the University of Saskatchewan (Canada) (BFA), performance at Masaryk University (Czech Repubic,) (BFA), with Balinese master teachers/performers, at the One Yellow Rabbit Summer Lab Intensive (AB, Canada), with Lecoq protégé Norman Taylor (NYC) and clown with Giovanni Fusetti (OR). 

She is  a faculty member at Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre in California as well as a company member and teaches inmates at Pelican Bay State Prison through California's Arts in Corrections Program. Janessa crafts custom built character teeth for performers called Necessiteeth and is one half of the fem rap duo Vagsicle. She is a founder of Glitter Gizzard and a co-creator of  the IN'Tents Project, which most recently travelled to Egypt giving Janessa the opportunity to perform in the Hakawy International Arts Festival for Children. Janessa has worked and studied in Canada, the Czech Republic, Bali, Egypt and the U.S.A as a performer, teaching artist and puppet builder/ puppeteer.  

Allie Menzimer (co-creator/performer)

Allie Menzimer is a native of San Francisco, and an MFA graduate of Dell’Arte International. Her one-act play, Winter Fruit, received the national award for Theater for Youth Audiences from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival, and was produced by UC Santa Barbara’s New Plays Festival. Allie has performed with Boxtales Theater Company and Oregon Children’s Theater, as well as self-producing her solo show And Then They Stand Still in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is a founding company member of The Beast With Three Backs, whose Shel Silverstein adaptation enjoyed great success on the Canadian Fringe Festival circuit in 2014. When she is not dressing in drag and solving murders with a local dinner theatre troupe, Allie enjoys camping, paper crafts, puppeteering, playing her mandolin, writing flash fiction, and exploring the rich culinary landscape of Portlandia. Cory Goldman (sound design)

Cory Goldman is a musician and educator in Arcata, CA.  Equally comfortable playing old time at a square dance and performing laptop based noise pop as Bumblecrow, his eclectic musical interests inform his work on stage and in the studio. In addition to performing and recording, he teaches private lessons on stringed instruments and works as a mentor to youth at the MARZ Project.  Cory and Janessa have been collaborating on live theater projects for several years, most recently on Camel Camel.  He recently helped arrange and produce an album of children’s music in cooperation with Lyndsey Battle and First 5 Humboldt, and is putting the finishing touches on a new Bumblecrow EP due for release this fall.
